Hunt up to 31,000 acres - Hall county southeast of Amarillo near Childress - one of the top Panhandle deer counties in Texas. We are located SW of Childress, in the Chainey Mountains, SE of Estelline, right under the caprock. We are remote, and have an usually high deer count on the ranch for Texas. Very little hunting pressure surrounds us.
The hunting area: up to 31,000 acres of mountainous, hilly, rolling terrain with over 500 acres planted in winter wheat throughout the ranch. We draw in trophy Mule Deer and Whitetails from miles.
We have the only wheat for an estimated 10+ miles around. It’s a magnet. Deer travel great distances to feed in these wheat fields and often stay the winter here. In 2012 we had a whitetail buck in the 160s and another in the 170s on the ranch we observed in the wheat fields.
Accommodations: clients stay in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath modest, clean ranch house. Towels, linens, blankets and pillows are provided. Excellent meals are served and you will hunt with an experienced guide. All meals are prepared by a ranch cook. We hunt by glassing draws, arroyos, wheat fields, spot and stalk, rattling, and blind hunting. A moderate amount of driving in the truck will be done. We are bordered by huge ranches as well, some of which do not hunt. We are one of only 2 ranches for over 15 miles who have winter wheat and the deer come from miles to our wheat and stay the winter there..

The word is out on this new "honey hole" for trophy mule deer. The Texas Panhandle. Many North Texas counties formerly closed to mule deer hunting have recently been opened, some for the first time in history. This has created a unique opportunity for the discerning trophy hunter in search of record book mule deer.
These deer have not been pressured. Recently, muleys exceeding 150-180BC and weighing over 300 pounds have been harvested in the Panhandle - most unpublicized. Antler spreads range 25"-32" and heavy mass is common with good forks. The state record came from this sand hills region.
Hunting is conducted by patiently glassing large areas, including travel corridors between wheat fields and mesquite flats and brushy creek and drainage breaks. "Spot & stalk" and high racking is the preferred method of harvest. We have 3 very large winter wheat fields and are the only green fields for 7 miles.
These hunts are in the greatest demand and booking early is recommended. Be among the select few to experience this hunt of a lifetime.
The Panhandle of extreme North Texas has come on in recent years as the new "hotspot" for huge Kansas strain whitetails. These bruisers can easily exceed 250 pounds, rivaling Canadian whitetails without the extreme weather and international travel. Many free ranging Boone & Crockett Whitetail bucks exceeding 200BC have been taken recently in the Texas panhandle - most unpublicized.
